The Little Free Pantry

IMG_1686_edited.jpg

The Century League opened its Little Free Pantry on the grounds of City Hall on May 30, 2017.  Anyone can make donations to the Little Free Pantry by leaving items in the box for others to take as needed.

Accepted donations include nonperishable or long-lasting food items and hygienic items. For safety reasons, no liquids or glass will be permitted, with the exception of liquid soaps and toothpaste. Century League members will regularly check the contents of the pantry to ensure that items in the box follow the guidelines.

Donations can be made to the pantry at any time or to members of the Century League who can stock the pantry as the need arises. Donations that cannot fit inside the Little Free Pantry with the door closed cannot be left at the pantry site. A list of items suitable for donating will be kept inside the pantry for anyone to take and include the following:

  • Cereal

  • Dry Pasta

  • Canned Foods

  • Breakfast Bars

  • Toilet Paper

  • Soap

  • Shampoo

  • Toothpaste

  • Hand Sanitizer

  • Feminine Products

  • Diapers

  • Baby Formula

The Bill Emerson Good Samaritan Food Donation Act of 1996 protects individual donors and the overseeing nonprofit organization from donations made in good faith that may unintentionally cause damages to a consumer. Read more here.
